IBS & STOMACH UPSETS
Treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can be tough. It's characterized by abdominal pain and either constipation, diarrhea, or a combination of both, but its symptoms are different for every person who suffers from it.
Western medicine will tell you they have no cure and at best may recommend to make some diet changes.
Other Methods of treatment
Most practitioners will recommend probiotics and other demulcent type supplements to repopulate and sooth the digestive track. These approaches are outdated and in most situations show limited improvements in symptoms.
Over many years of clinical practice and scientific investigation, I have come to realise to heal the digestive system and be free from symptoms a deeper level of healing and understanding is required.
So how can I help and why is my treatment different?
When healing the gut it is important to note this is not a stand alone organ, the colon (small and large intestines) require other organs and digestive processes in order for it to function properly.
When these processes breakdown or become over burdened this impairs digestive function.
Major organs responsible for digestion.
Liver - Bile acids are required to breakdown fats. When the liver is over burdened, fatty or toxic, fat malabsorption can happen. Consitpation and diarrhoea will often be the result.
Pancreas - The pancreas releases pancreatic enzymes for the proper breakdown of food. When this process is not functioning food ferments within the colon gas, bloating, heartburn, reflux and more can be the result.
These organs are responsible for maintaining correct Ph of the digestive track and when things go amiss healthy gut bacteria can not flourish and dybiosis sets in. Dysbiosis is a technical word for an in-balance in good and bad gut bacteria, resulting in what is known as IBS.
So if you have tried other naturopaths with no success, if you have taking probiotics and prebiotics for years with no improvements, give me a call or book online now and try a different approach.
