WHY SOME STRUGGLE  TO FALL PREGNANT

Have you ever said or thought to yourself?

Why can’t I get pregnant? Is it me? Is it him? Is it because I drink? Is it because I used to take the pill? Whats wrong with me? If this sounds like you, you’re not alone.

A whooping one in 35 men, will have a fertility issue, one in 25 of these are thought to be due to low sperm count. Women make up around 40 percent of all the treated infertility cases in Australia. Females over the age of 35 have as little as one in three chance of having fertility issues.

  • Diet change can be one of the most powerful first steps: What would a holistic approach be without using food as medicine? An overall-healthy diet is essential, as our bodies are designed to only allow for reproduction when the environment is optimal.

  • Diagnosed or undiagnosed pelvic pathology such as Endometriosis or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) maybe the culprit. Painful periods, and other PMS type symptoms are not normal and can indicate underlying conditions that need addressing.

  • Research has shown that a higher risk of unsuccessful pregnancies could be linked to low levels of Vitamins B6, B9 (folate) and B12 and high homocysteine. On the other hand, supplementation has been found to increase the chances of pregnancy. While they are also important for women, zinc and selenium are absolutely essential for testosterone and sperm production. Both can improve sperm count and motility, and zinc is required to activate testosterone. In women, zinc is needed for foetal growth and brain development.

  • Simply supplementing with a range of vitamins is not the answer. Correct diagnosis and testing is required to ensure the body is adequately armed and ready to create a baby.
